Zoo Day!

Once upon a time, Mallory was a teeny, tiny baby who went to the zoo. She was completely unaware that we were even outside, let alone surrounded by weird people and a variety of animals.

Last year's zoo trip...



Last weekend, Kali and I took Parker and Mallory to the zoo because all of the daddies were out of town. She loved it! Both kids were happy the entire time. Not a single whine! Mallory looked at all of the animals, we at lunch at Cafe Africa AKA Cafe Chicken Strips, rode the train and generally strolled around. I was amazed that she is big enough to actually enjoy going on a field trip. I think the favorite part was the mini horses and the aviary. The old petting zoo portion with chicken, ducks, mini horses and other small weird critters was pretty neat. A duck quacked at Parker and scared us all. The zoo lady brought the mini horses over to the chain link fence and the kids were excited to be so close to the action. The birds in the aviary were all over the place and Mallory reached out to touch one but quickly changed her mind. It was a great outing!
