Monday - starting to get a little sick. Had low fever when I picked her up and generally looked pathetic.
Tuesday - woke up at 4:00 am (this isn't typical). Sick but went to school anyway. Ran fever most of the day. Bedtime routine was going smoothly until I went to lay her down at which time she gagged herself with her hand (she does this often) and continued gagging until she projectile vomited. That let to recleaning her, me, the carpet then refeeding her.
Wednesday - got turned away from daycare because apparently Tuesday she had over 100 one of the times they checked her and no one told me. Couldn't come for 24 hours. I stayed home because BJ always keeps her and never gets to work. This was probably her happiest day because she felt fine! My Aunt Cel came to see Mally for the first time as well. She lives in Dallas. We had a good visit :)
Wednesday night Mally also ate carrots for the first time. She liked it!
Thursday - went to school as usual but got a call at 10:30 saying she had been crying for an hour like she was in pain and I am so smart I didn't have any tylenol in her bag. We didn't have to go get her, but we did anyway. She was fine.
Friday - she was falling asleep while I carried her into school. Then she slept from 9:30 til 12:30 and 1:30 til 3:00! Weird! Normal would have been an hour in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. I got BJ to try to feed her more carrots. Instead of swallowing, she gagged on her own saliva and projectile vomited leading to early bath and early bedtime. She kept waking up and crying so we gave her some tylenol and she was good for the rest of the night.
Conclusions from this week's observations:
1) Mallory has slight reflux and a sensitive gag reflex
2) She is teething. Her "teachers" keep telling us this and they are probably right even though it will probably be a while before we see any teeth.
One other new thing...thumb sucking! She has almost abandoned her pacifier all together. She only used it for naps anyway, but she has turned to the thumb instead. Since it is always with her, she puts herself to sleep in wierd places now. At least I know if she is tired and it isn't nap time, she will go to sleep anyway.
I forgot to include in my last post the pics of Mallory's hat collection. During our snow week, she wore a variety of head gear. The bunny hat was from Aunt Lauren, and the pink had was made by mom's good friend Vicki. She loved them!
