Traveling Arkansas

This weekend Mallory FINALLY got to meet a few of her family members that live out of town. On Saturday we drove to Monticello to visit BJ's stepdad's family. Mally met her Greatgrandmother Mrs. Bonnie. We intended to go to Monticello on Christmas day but since Mally was sick, our visit was delayed. We were so glad to finally get down there! Of course she loved her GG and even got to hang around with Papaw Jerry. She thought Jerry was pretty funny and laughed at his funny faces and slapped his belly. It was so nice to see a loving wonderful lady like Mrs. Bonnie with Mallory. I image that my Grandmother would have been the exact same way with her. They act like she is just the best thing that has ever happened. Maybe she is... :)

On Sunday we met my cousin Lydia, who was driving up from Dallas, at my grandparents house in Malvern. Lydia hadn't met Mally yet and my grandparents hadn't seen her since Thanksgiving. She was the life of the party! I managed to forget my camera. :(

Lydia came to Little Rock Sunday and Monday and we loved on the baby girl.

Here she is with Lydia right after she woke up from her nap. She is still all wrapped up in the fleece wrap she sleeps in.

Here she is ready to go on a walk on the bright sunny Monday we just had. Finally nice weather!

Those sunglasses lasted long enough to get a picture. She was also to preoccupied with trying to get her jacket into her mouth to stay in the stroller. It was making her mad so I walked the dog and pushed the empty stroller why Lydia carried Mallory. She held this strand of Lydia's hair like she was leading her around! She loves to grab stuff these days.

Monday night we went to eat at Mimi's. Mallory sat on my mom's lap gripping the table, staring at the rattle I had put in front of her and kicking the underside of the table. Finally after staring it down for a while she went for it! She swatted that rattle around like crazy and wouldn't stop! Mom put a spoon in front of her and she whacked the tip of it. Well, it went flying! It was really funny and Mallory was really excited she was making things move.

She is trying to hard to flip herself over but hasn't quit got it yet. I can't put her on the counter in the bathroom to undress her for her bath anymore because she wiggles away. Last night I stood next to her to see how far she would wiggle. She wiggled across the counter and all the way down into the sink. She just sat in the sink for a minute confused about how she got there. Goofy girl. I have also started using a baby bathtub instead of the infant bath seat that sits above the water. Now she can have a little water in her tub and she likes to slide down the incline a few inches so her feet touch the end of the tub. She kicks and wiggles in the water and pushes herself against the end of the tub. I am going to have to get her a bigger tub soon. She is so long!

Daycare is going really really well. She is all smiles and takes about a 2 hour nap each morning. Yay Mally! They love her there and she seems to really like it too. Thank you Lord!
