We're Back!

Summer is over (except for the fact it is still blazing hot). Our school year routine is starting again and Mallory is up to so many new things. I am busy busy busy at work again after a mostly relaxing summer that allowed me to take lots of time off to play with Mallory.

We mostly played with Kali and Parker, but we were able to see Spencer, Sawyer and Tappan in there a little bit too. Oh, and McKenzie! But she is still too little to play. We swam a lot this summer and have decided that every other month we will do the swim class again through out the year so we will be excellent at swimming for next summer. Hopefully Parker will come with us. By the end of July, Both Mally and Park were actually starting to swim! (Parker more so because he is a big boy) We would let them go under water and they would kick and move themselves through the water.

Two weeks ago Mallory started her new classroom at daycare and I think she really likes it! They have regular snack and lunch time and she takes regular, long naps. They also go to the church gym and play with balls! Such a big girl. At the end of her first week, one of her teachers told me "she is the bright spot in our day." She went on to talk about how Mallory is the happiest, smiliest baby she has ever seen and they all just love her (and she is secretly the best in her class). It makes us feel so good to know that not only does she enjoy going to daycare, but that her caretakers truely enjoy her as well.

I have started planning Mallory's first birthday party. It will be at Kali and Dennis's house because they have a great outdoor setup for the kids to play and for the adults to sit around and visit. They are always generous and we are so thankful they offered their home for Mallory's birthday festivities.

She is so big and all over the place. She climbs, scoots, crawls, and chews on everything. I thought we would avoid it, but she chewed up her crib railing this morning. :( She isn't walking yet, but she is cruising better each day. It won't be long!

Here is a video of her climbing down out of the dishwasher. She climbs up there faster than you can realize what she is up to! Also, here a a few cute pics of recent days.

  1. She truly is a bright spot in anyone's day who is around her! And apparently she's quite an advanced climber! Spencer didn't do any dishwasher climbing 'til after he started walking. I can't wait to celebrate Mally's birthday!
