Last Sunday was the Staples family Christmas gathering at my Aunt Joanne and Uncle Greg's house in Cabot. Mallory was sleepy and a little crabby the whole time but did ok! There were lots of kids and my favorite part was when my cousin Julie's 2 year old daughter Abby fell into the Christmas tree, ornaments came crashing down, but she jumped up and went on like nothing happened. Here's my Mally with Uncle Ricky...
And here with her Pop Pop...
Since I am off work for 2 weeks (benefits of working at a school!) I had some time to finish Christmas shopping Monday and Tuesday. Monday Danielle and I went to the mall. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Tuesday Kali and I went down to Hillcrest and ate lunch. Mally thoroughly enjoyed both outings. Tuesday night was also a dinner at Olive Garden with BJ's company. We were really late because it took over an hour in traffic to get to North Little Rock. Mallory screamed the entire time in the car but was really good at the restaurant! BJ's company is owned by a really nice young couple that I finally got to meet. They have 2 young kids and their little girl just loved Mallory. She gently touched her and hugged her and it was so sweet!
Wednesday....I guess nothing happened Wednesday.
Ok, finally...Christmas! (Eve that is)
Even though the great flood hit Thursday, we were still able to get to BJ's mom's house Thursday afternoon. Mallory was smily and sweet even though she was starting to get a cold. We had a wonderful Christmas dinner with pork roast and mashed potatoes. Lauren (BJ's sister) said the potatoes were too garlicky and the gravy was weird but together was delicious. I didn't taste them individually, I just inhaled everything as fast as possible. Everything Sara cooks is sooooo good.
Here is the present breakdown: Mallory got a bunny toy that she really really loves and some super cute clothes. The best I think is her bunny hat that I will have to post a pic of later. She looks like a sherpa. BJ and I got a really awesome video camera from Sara! Woohoo! As soon as I figure out how to get the video onto the computer I will post some clips! Sara and Jerry opened a savings account for Mally and we are so thankful. As smart as she is, we are going to need $$ to send her to the best college!
Christmas day! HO HO HO!
Mallory = really sick baby. No fever, just lots of snot and ickiness. Present breakdown: Mallory got a gloworm. It's her new best friend. She also got a sock monkey outfit! It is really cute. Again, no pictures to post yet, but I will get them up soon! I got some really nice clothes from my Mom and my Dad got BJ a really really really nice rifle that he had mentioned before would be neat to have. It is a Henry Goldenboy. Means nothing to me, but they were sure excited about it. Later in the day I found BJ laying on his back on the bed just holding the gun over his head gazing at it. Weirdo.
Today Mallory is not better or worse which is fine as long as she has no fever! Just a boogery baby nose. BJ is hunting with Jerry (stepdad) and took the camera so I have a severe lack of pictures to post. I promise to post more tomorrow! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We did!
